Privacy policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
Party Pix (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is a browser camera for events, operated as a sole proprietorship in the United States. This policy explains how we handle organizers’ and guests’ information.
1. What we do not store
- Guest photos and videos on our servers: Captures upload directly from your browser to the organizer’s Google Drive, including during development. Party Pix does not persist guest photo or video content on its servers. Authorized previews and slideshows may stream through server memory without being saved.
- Your Google password: Google handles sign-in. We receive account information and store encrypted authorization credentials to operate your Drive connection.
2. Information we collect
- Organizers: Google account identifier, name, email, profile image, sessions, and authorization credentials.
- Events and guests: event details, invitation and folder identifiers, required guest display names, sessions, consent records, upload counts, and activity records. Guest names can appear in photo filenames.
- Upload information: file identifiers, names, types, sizes, timestamps, and upload status. We use this metadata to confirm saves, recover uploads, and provide viewing and deletion.
- Technical information: service providers receive IP addresses and browser request information to deliver and protect the service. Operational and security records help us investigate problems.
3. Google data and photo sharing
We use Google data for organizer sign-in, event folders, upload authorization, save confirmation, viewing, and authorized guest deletion. We request permission to manage files created or explicitly shared with Party Pix, rather than your entire Drive. Party Pix displays only its own confirmed event captures. Files added manually in Drive are not displayed. Guests do not receive organizers’ Google credentials.
Organizers can see guest names, counts, and confirmed photos captured through Party Pix. They may display slideshows or share copies elsewhere. Guests can review their own uploads through their session.
We follow the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements. Google data is not used for advertising, resale, or training general-purpose AI models.
You can revoke Party Pix’s Google access; this does not delete app records or Drive files. Google’s privacy policy also applies.
4. Your choices and deletion
Camera and device storage: the camera starts only after you choose Enable camera and grant permission. Unfinished captures may remain in your browser for retry until completion or discard. Clearing site data removes browser copies and sessions. Event deletion cannot remotely clear your device.
Only the guest who uploaded a photo can delete it through Party Pix. This requires the original valid session and an active event within its scheduled dates. Deletion is unavailable while paused, before the event starts, or after it ends. It moves the photo to Drive trash; failed requests are not reported as successful. Organizers retain their separate Drive controls.
Deleting an event never deletes, trashes, or changes its Google Drive files or folder. It removes event records, guest sessions, and Party Pix access. The organizer’s account and Google connection remain separate. Previously authorized uploads may still finish in Drive. Copies shared or downloaded elsewhere are unaffected.
Request access, correction, deletion, or other privacy assistance at privacy@partypix.click. Rights depend on applicable law; we may verify identity. The guest deletion window does not limit statutory rights. Contact the organizer about copies they control.
5. Cookies and analytics
Essential cookies maintain sessions and protect sign-in. Browser storage can hold event drafts and unfinished captures.
When enabled, PostHog measures page views and broad browser/device usage using temporary identifiers, without analytics cookies or persistent browser storage. Names, emails, photos, invitation tokens, and upload URLs are excluded. Session replay and automatic click/form tracking are disabled. PostHog receives your IP address during delivery; we request that IP recording and location enrichment be disabled. Analytics does not load when your browser signals Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
6. Providers and communications
Google, hosting/security providers such as Cloudflare, and PostHog when enabled receive information needed for their services. They may process data outside the United States. Information may also be disclosed to meet legal obligations or address abuse.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not send marketing emails, surveys, or feedback requests. Privacy and support replies are service communications.
7. Retention and security
Closed events are scheduled for removal from Party Pix after 90 days. Their event details, guest names, consent records, and photo metadata are removed together. Reopening an event before removal clears that date. Planned, active, and paused events remain until closed or deleted. Removing an event ends Party Pix access and does not delete Google Drive files. A safety hold may delay removal while a provider operation is unresolved.
Expired or used sign-in requests are removed during maintenance. Expired or revoked organizer sessions are removed after 24 hours. Guest session and consent records stay with their event. Account records, backups, and operational logs have separate retention. Active-system deletion does not immediately erase backup copies. Google controls retention of Drive files and trash.
We also keep first-party feature-use counts for up to 13 months to understand which features help organizers and guests. These counts include successful capture and deletion, media review, and slideshow playback, grouped by day. Aggregate reports exclude names, invitation links, account or guest identifiers, and photos. Small first-use markers remain with an event until it is removed. We respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control for this optional measurement. This does not expand the information sent to PostHog.
We use access controls and protected credentials to safeguard information. No service can guarantee absolute security.
8. Children and policy changes
Party Pix is not directed to children under 13. Organizers are responsible for participant permissions. We update this policy and its date when practices change, and provide notice or seek consent when required.
